Part 1
John 3:16 (Let’s read it out loud together) The world usually defines success in terms of achieving one's goal, acquiring wealth, status, prestige & power Successful people are usually people that are enjoying “the good life” What are your thoughts on what is “the good life?” (The good life is different depends on whom you speak with)…but the majority would probably agree that it means, money, power and status We have to be careful as to what viewpoint we take! Proverbs 14:12 says … There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. Let’s hear what is the most important thing to you right now in your life? What are some of your goals in life? Isaiah 48:17 This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go ***There is a sickening thought being pushed around today of using a “good” scripture and not using scriptures that mentions “the holiness of God” or “what God expects from His children in re: to behavior” Unfortunately there is a trend that if someone “starts talking about holiness”…that is being religious Then the same people, starts quoting, “if God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31) The question is are you truly for God? Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. God does give the ability to produce wealth Deuteronomy 8:18 But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today. Please remember that the most important thing is receiving or having salvation through Jesus. John 3:16 (repeat) A second important thing to remember is that we will face tribulation in our lives. Married people (1 Corinthians 7:28 says) But if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. But those who marry will face many troubles in this life, and I want to spare you this. James 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds Romans 5:3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance 2 Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me Don’t go back <- Sing a verse of two songs pertaining to – Fight the good fight of FAITH James 1:12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
