“I lift up my eyes to the hills--where does my helpcome from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm121:1-2 There have been so many times in my life that I have had to do this…placing my eyes on where they belong… only on Jesus! I can remember the first time when I read inMatthew 14:28-29 “"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell meto come to you on the water.” Yes, come," Jesus, said. So Peter went overthe side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.” What an incrediblemiracle, but Jesus wants us to do the same!
I know you may be thinking, how you can come tosuch faith! When you experience God in a real way for yourself, you will seethat you can truly trust Him! Trust means… reliance on, confident expectation of something;hope; person on whom or thing on which one relies. This is what God wants from us; His children;a total dependence upon Him.
Whenwe keep our eyes on Him totally, we will know with confidence He will never letus down. Hebrews 13:5 tells us, “Be happy with what you have because God has said,"I will never abandon you or leave you." Walking with Jesus for close to 26 years, Ican honestly say with confidence that I have seen the difference of when I havetaken my eyes off of Him and leaned on my own understanding vs. keeping myeyes, my heart, my total dependence on Him.
Now will do the same? Will you be willing to comeout of the boat (your own safety nest, so to speak) and place your totalconfidence on Christ Jesus too? I amtelling you, your life will never be the same
Challenge:Listen to what Isaiah 44:7 states and meditate on it:
“Who is like me? Let him step forward and prove toyou his power. Let him do as I have done since ancient times when I establisheda people and explained its future.”
