It truly amazes me how often we believe the enemy of our soul when he tells us we are all alone in our circumstances/situations in life. He tells us no one understands and that no one really cares. What lies we fall into when we listen and come in agreement with these thoughts.
Let’s read what the Word of God has to say about this: In Hebrews 13:5 “God has said, "I will never abandon you or leave you." Stop and ponder on this promise, please even for just a moment. You are NOT alone. He promises nothing can separate us from His love! In Romans 8:35; 38-39 we hear, “Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love? Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?... And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow--not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love…neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
One of my favorite promises that I stand on is in Romans 8:31 “What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” In John 10:28 Jesus tells us, “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.” Oh my, what incredible promises from God to stand on! Thank you Jesus.
Let’s look at the story from 2Kings 6:15—17, “When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere.”Oh, sir, what will we do now?" the young man cried to Elisha. "Don't be afraid," the prophet answered. "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them." Then Elisha prayed, "LORD, please open his eyes so that he may see. “The LORD opened the servant's eyes and let him see. The mountain around Elisha was full of fiery horses and chariots.” God encamps His angels around us. Hebrews 1:7 says, “God said about the angels, "He makes his messengers winds. He makes his servants flames of fire."
So the next time you begin to have thoughts telling you that you are all alone and that no one really cares about you or what you are going through; stop these thoughts immediately and do not allow them to take root on the inside of you! Renew your mind and continually humble yourself under God. As is said in Romans 12:2 “Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.” Hold on to the promises that God gives you. You truly are never alone. This is truth you can completely stand on! He loves you so much and wants the absolute best for you!
