Ethical principles--pertaining to right and wrong in conduct.
Honesty: freedom from deceit or fraud; truthfulness, sincerity, or frankness.
Hearing this definition, can you honestly (LOL) say that you have found many people who live this way today? There have been so many times, that I have left a place, situation, etc. and wondered why can these people just be honest with me. It can almost seem like so many have decided to have their own ethical scale but it is NOT lining up with the Word of God.
I often times laugh as I have heard my husband say in his conversations, “Honestly,...”. I have said to the Lord, “Why does my husband feel that he has to make sure he says that word so often?” I was truly amazed when I heard the Lord respond to me with this answer, “I often have had to say in my word, ‘I tell you the truth;” Depending on your Bible search, ‘I tell you the truth’ is said over 200 times. God is obviously trying to make a point if something is said that many times.
I believe that many are in a crossroads in their integrity level. We have to mean what we say, and say what we mean. We will be respected so much more for living this way and people will believe us when we speak. In order to fine-tune your hearing in the Spirit you must walk in true integrity, I do not care who you are. “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." John 4:24. God also tells us, “Yet, you desire truth and sincerity. Deep down inside me you teach me wisdom.” Psalm 51:6.
